Pilates 4 Parkinson's - Instructor Certificate Course (P4P-ICC)
Specialization Course in Parkinson’s Exercise Application
At present there does not exist a standardized, physiotherapeutic exercise protocol for people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, in particular, per disease stage. The Pilates 4 Parkinson's Method of exercise provides a baseline exercise movement protocol designed to help people with Parkinson's preserve their movement independence. The Method is specific and targeted to each individual's needs and condition, with the ultimate objectives of maintaining upright posture, improving spinal mobility, and preserving ambulation and gait. Instructor candidates upon completion of our comprehensive Instructor Certificate Course, are trained to evaluate, assess, and program exercise movements specific to the needs of the client. The Pilates Method principles provide the basis for the exercise program and instructors are well versed and skilled to accommodate people in all stages of Parkinson's disease.
