Personal Trainer

Working with a professional fitness trainer who understands basic anatomy, physiology, kinematics, and the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, gives a person with Parkinson's disease a distinct advantage in receiving an exercise program that is appropriate and safe.  Certified professional personal trainers, especially those with specific experience and knowledge of working with neurodegenerative conditions, are invaluable assets to a person with PD and can ultimately help one save time and money.  Personal Trainers can also help encourage, motivate and help you begin and maintain a consistent fitness routine.  Personal Trainers are great at helping you set SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely) goals, and provide a training program to help you achieve them.

"While Parkinson's disease can be debilitating, there is plenty of compelling data to show that exercise and retraining the brain are amoing the most effective methods of managing symptoms and slowing disease progression.  Our approach to Neuropsychomotor Rehabilitation uses an in depth and integrative fitness0based approach to improve cognitive function, dual-task abilities, gait, grip, balance, stability, strength, motor control, and quality of life.  The improvement in movement and mobility helps to reduce falls, injuries, and various other complications of Parkinson's disease." - Karl Sterling
